I got the E3 bundle with hardwire kit, CPL and 256 GB card. Some thoughts after about a month:
- Installation of hardwire kit was relatively easy after watching some (non-official) youtube videos. However, I have experience with electronics and electrical works, as well as some basic equipment and tools (multimeter and USB power analyser). It still took an hour because I had to troubleshoot some things. Btw, it seems that this device does not work with any USB power supply and/or cable, maybe Vantrue can disclose what are the specs for those.
- Video quality is okay. Visibly better than my previous Garmin Drive Assist 50 from 2017.
- I did not install the rear camera module (it's too cold to work on the car outside where I am) and now kinda regret not getting just the basic front and cabin dashcam.
- I had really bad time getting camera to connect to phone app. I was not able to get it working with iPhone 12 pro max. It work fine with wife's google pixel 7 though, and it works fine with 16 pro max after I changed phones. Might be a fluke, might be something with iPhone 12.
- I like the remote control and found myself using it alot.
- CPL filter is somewhat working, but the effect is much less pronounced than what advertisement would lead you to believe.
- While ordering, I did not realise this ships (to my place in Luthuania) from China, and since its over 150 euros, I did worry that I would be charged VAT + Customs duties + paying for a customs agent to do paperwork. Which I once had to after ordering similar items - and that can make the price nearly double. Thankfully, it was not the case, and I did not had to pay something extra.
