Use a Pry Tool and a Hair Dryer.
Removing a dash cam is usually more challenging than installing it on the windshield. This is because the adhesive on the mount is very strong and almost impossible to remove with just your fingers. We recommend using a pry tool to slowly loosen the adhesive.
However, the best method is to use a hair dryer or heat gun. Aim the hair dryer at the adhesive from outside the vehicle (or inside, if necessary). Just 5 to 10 seconds should suffice, then slowly wiggle the mount back and forth – the adhesive should loosen significantly as the glue heats up and softens. If the initial heat isn't enough, feel free to use the pry tool or the hair dryer again.
For any remaining 3M adhesive, you can use a towel lightly dampened with alcohol to gently wipe the area. The alcohol will help break down the adhesive components. Allow it to soften for a while, making it easier to remove, and then wipe it clean.
